"SOMETIMES THE SMALLEST THINGS TAKE UP THE MOST ROOM IN YOUR HEART"

WELCOME TO GENISTA PAWTRAITS

"Genista Pawtraits" is where you can find samples of my work which I mainly do for pleasure, family and friends. However, I have recently started taking commissions for Pastel Pet Portraits. I aim to create exquisite pastel pet portraits from your photographs that bring out the spirit, character and personality of your beloved and cherished other family member, with their unique personalites, cheeky grins, they make us laugh and smile and love us unconditionally. What would we do without them?

I am a pet owner and animal lover myself, and I understand how much pleasure and comfort an original pastel portrait can bring, either by celebrating an adored pet or remembering one we have sadly lost.

A commissioned pet portrait or gift voucher makes a unique birthday, Christmas, wedding or anniversary gift that will be treasured forever by the recipient.

I hand paint each portrait using photographs as a guide. I am not trying to make the painting look like the photograph but hopefully to enhance it to bring out your pets personality and character as a painting. Several photographs can be used to get the required pose and changes can be made to remove e.g. a hand, collar, "red eye" etc. It is important to use as clear a photograph as possible as a guide as the quality of the photograph will directly influence the detail of the painting.

I love to paint/draw, it is my refuge at times and a celebration at other times. I paint/draw in many styles/mediums as you will see over the coming months. Please take a look at all my pages on this blog.

For Available Artwork please take a look at my pages and/or my Website. Visit my "Prices/Sizes" page and"How To Commission A Portrait" for information.

Please leave a comment if you have time or maybe even become a follower, you are more than Welcome......

PORTRAIT PRICES/SIZES AND PAYMENT

SIZES

Pricing depends on the size of the portrait. Size refers to the dimensions of the painting in its bevel edged mount not the actual painted area.

A 11”x14” is suitable for head and shoulder studies of cats, dogs and other small animals (rabbits, birds, hamsters etc). Suitable for one or two subjects

A 12”x 16” size tends to be more pleasing when framed and is the size I most frequently use. The 12”x 16” is perfect for a head and shoulder study of any dog, or for a full length portrait of a cat. This size can also be used for up to 3 pets but better for 2 subjects (head and shoulders only otherwise they may look a little cramped).

A 16”x20” size is suitable for full length portraits or portraits of multiple pets. Suitable for up to four subjects (head and shoulders) or for a 3/4 and full body portrait of 1 or 2 subjects

Bigger sizes are always available on request

The choice of size depends on the type of pet, its breed, the number of pets, where you plan to hang it and of course, your budget. If you are unsure as to what size would be best for your pet(s) then please contact me and I will give you an honest opinion as to what would be most suitable as I want your finished portrait to look great in your home.

A Portrait in 11" x 14" Bevel Cut Mount

Frame Size 8" x 6" (20cms x 15cms) suitable for 1 head study subject. Price: £45 + £3.95 post/packing, complete with mount and frame (Painting 6" x 4")

Frame Size 10" x 8" (25cms x 20cms) suitable for 1 head study subject. Price: £50 + £3.95 post/packing, complete with mount and frame (Painting 7" x 5")

These make ideal bedside portraits or on a sideboard or shelf. They are only suitable for a single head portrait and come complete with white cardboard mount and black frame in the price. Postage/Packing is NOT included in the price.

Framing Service will be available in the very near future

PACKAGING AND DELIVERY

All orders are packed carefully with instructions to avoid damage. Portraits are protected with acid free tissue paper and packed flat in a reinforced envelope or gently rolled into a mailing tube (for larger pieces). They are then sent by Royal Mail or Air Mail if outside UK.

PAYMENT

Payment can be made in a number of ways including: cash (Local), cheque (UK only) or PayPal. PayPal is the easiest and securest way to pay especially if abroad.
I require a 25% deposit before starting the portrait. This is because a great deal of time and effort goes into each portrait and I use expensive, top quality materials. I need to know that you are as serious about purchasing a portrait as I am about painting it! Once the deposit is received, I can begin. The finished portrait is shown to you online. After you have approved it, you need to send me the balance of the price plus postage/packing.  As soon as I have received this money, I will pack and send your portrait. I know how eager you will be to get the portrait so I promise that there will not be any delays at my end.

Warmest Wishes
